TERMS OF SERVICE.

Effective 2026-07-03. By using StartLarp you agree to these Terms in full.

1. What StartLarp is

StartLarp ("StartLarp", "we", "us", "our") is a parody/entertainment web application ("Service") that lets a user ("you", "User") generate fictional user-interface simulations of consumer banking, peer-to-peer payment, social media, cryptocurrency, and event-ticketing products. Everything generated by the Service is fiction. No real money moves, no real accounts exist, no real followers are added to any real profile, and no real institution is contacted on your behalf.

2. No affiliation

StartLarp is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way connected to JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.; Bank of America Corporation; Wells Fargo & Company; Block, Inc. (Cash App); Meta Platforms, Inc. (Instagram); Crypto.com; Early Warning Services, LLC (Zelle); or any other third party. All third-party marks are the property of their respective owners and appear here nominatively for parody purposes under U.S. fair use.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you are not, do not use the Service. One account per person.

4. You are 100% responsible for what you do with StartLarp

You agree that you will not use the Service, or any output of the Service (including screenshots, screen recordings, SMS content, generated images, generated balances, or generated transaction histories), to:

  • Defraud, deceive, or mislead any person, business, government, court, or platform for any purpose, including obtaining money, credit, goods, services, employment, housing, insurance, immigration status, legal advantage, or anything else of value under false pretenses;
  • Impersonate any real person without their unambiguous prior consent, or catfish, romance-scam, sextort, or otherwise deceive another individual;
  • Commit or attempt any wire fraud, bank fraud, identity theft, forgery, tax fraud, insurance fraud, loan fraud, rental fraud, "proof of funds" misrepresentation, chargeback fraud, or any equivalent offense in any jurisdiction;
  • Harass, stalk, threaten, dox, or intimidate any person;
  • Generate content depicting minors in any sexual manner, non-consensual intimate imagery, terroristic threats, incitement to violence, or content otherwise illegal in your jurisdiction;
  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, court order, sanction, or third-party right.

Any such use is a material breach of these Terms. It is also your act, done by you, for which you — not StartLarp — bear sole civil, criminal, financial, regulatory, and reputational responsibility.

5. Assumption of risk

You assume all risk arising out of your access to and use of the Service. You acknowledge that the Service is intended solely for lawful entertainment and roleplay, and that a reasonable person would not mistake its output for a genuine record of a real bank, payment provider, social network, exchange, or ticketing service.

6. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless StartLarp, its operator, its owners, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, contributors, and agents (the "Indemnified Parties") from and against any and all claims, demands, investigations, actions, proceedings, damages, losses, liabilities, penalties, fines, judgments, settlements, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) of every kind, whether known or unknown, arising out of or related to: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) any content you input, upload, generate, download, share, or transmit; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any law, regulation, or third-party right; or (e) any claim brought against any Indemnified Party by any bank, payment platform, social platform, government agency, regulator, law-enforcement body, private party, or alleged victim in connection with your conduct.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. STARTLARP DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PURPOSE.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL ANY INDEMNIFIED PARTY BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF STARTLARP HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. STARTLARP'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) TWENTY U.S. DOLLARS ($20 USD) OR (b) THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID STARTLARP IN THE THREE MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

9. Subscriptions, payments, and refunds

StartLarp Premium is offered as a recurring monthly subscription at $3.33 USD/month with a 3-day free trial. The subscription auto-renews each month until canceled. You may cancel at any time; your access will continue through the end of the paid period, after which access to premium features will be revoked and, per Section 12, associated saved data may be deleted. If a scheduled charge fails, your access is revoked and your saved LARP data may be permanently deleted from our servers.

Event tickets (including but not limited to VIP watch parties priced at $33 USD) are final sale and non-refundable, except where required by law. Initiating a chargeback for a StartLarp charge is grounds for immediate account termination without refund.

10. Content and license

You retain ownership of any photograph or other content you upload ("Your Content"). You grant StartLarp a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, transmit, process, and modify Your Content solely to operate the Service on your behalf, including processing Your Content through third-party AI providers to generate the fictional outputs you request. Generated outputs are provided to you for personal, lawful, roleplay use only.

11. Acceptable Use Policy

Our Acceptable Use Policy is part of these Terms. Violating it is a material breach.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, at our sole discretion, including for suspected violation of these Terms or suspected unlawful use of the Service. On termination for cause, you forfeit any prepaid amounts and we may permanently delete any data associated with your account.

13. DMCA

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice to legal@startlarp.app with the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3). Counter-notices may be sent to the same address.

14. Governing law; arbitration; class-action waiver

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, U.S.A., without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in the English language. You and StartLarp each waive any right to a jury trial and any right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration. You may bring claims in small-claims court instead of arbitration if they qualify. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing legal@startlarp.app within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.

15. Changes

We may modify these Terms. Material changes will be surfaced in-app and you may be required to re-accept before continuing to use the Service. Continued use after a change is acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Severability; entire agreement

If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Parody Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and StartLarp on this subject and supersede all prior agreements.
